A Cagle Cartoon: Just Around The Corner

main.asp.jpg

In this cartoon, two scenarios are illustrated. The scene on the left shows a supposedly healthy man holding an Apple product on Wall Street, and behind him stands a newspaper stand with the phrase "JOBS IS GONE!" and the "MONEY Journal". The scene on the right shows a heavy set man in tattered, dirty close trying to sell apples on Main Street, and beside him stands a newspaper stand with the correct phrase " JOBS ARE GONE!". The Cartoonist is trying to convey the present  economic situation in New York. His main audience is the American people. The cartoon shows how tremendously different the lives of Wall Streets workers and the unemployed and homeless is. They also try to make a point about the intelligence level of the Wall street population by making an obvious grammar error on the headline title.
